Yohana Fessahazion

Yohana Fessahazion is an Eritrean-Canadian contemporary artist and designer based in Montreal, whose work vividly reflects her roots and vision. Inspired by Black identity, Eritrean culture, and Afrofuturism, her art combines bold colors and dynamic compositions to explore themes of resilience, cultural pride, and humanity. Through her creations, Yohana aims to spark conversations about diversity, self-acceptance, and the beauty of shared experiences.

Beyond her art, Yohana is deeply involved in her community as a member of ALA, The Black Wealth Club, and the Eritrean Youth Program. These connections highlight her dedication to fostering cultural empowerment and supporting initiatives that inspire academic and professional growth.

As a multidisciplinary creative, Yohana bridges the worlds of art, design, and technology. She uses her skills in UX design and marketing to craft user-centered digital experiences and impactful campaigns. Her contributions include projects like The Black Youth Excellence program, where she supports the teams purpose: to amplify voices, create inclusive spaces, and leave a lasting impact.

ABOUT IMANIIKO ART

"Imani" means faith in many languages, symbolizing belief, trust, and resilience—values at the core of Imaniiko Art. In Swahili, Arabic, Hebrew, Hausa, Persian, and Urdu, it signifies spiritual strength, perseverance, and inner guidance, reflecting the essence of the art itself.

Each piece celebrates heritage and resilience, inspiring self-reflection, growth, and the uplifting power of faith. Through Imaniiko, art becomes a symbol of endurance, personal evolution, and cultural pride, sparking conversations about identity and encouraging others to embrace their own journeys with faith.
